A wool shed burnt to the ground at Quailburn Downs Station near Omarama about 7am today.
The shed had collapsed by the time firefighters from Omarama and Twizel arrived.
The crews worked to ensure the fire did not spread into surrounding vegetation.
The fire was not being treated as suspicious, he said.
