Police have concerns for the wellbeing of two missing Oamaru youths who have escaped Child, Youth and Family care.
Two boys (14 and 15) were reported missing on Sunday night.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge said they had been seen in Oamaru on Monday, and police pursued them on foot at 1.30pm.
The 14-year-old was returned to CYF care but ran away again.
''There are concerns with youth being out there in circumstances that could be detrimental to their wellbeing,'' Sgt Woodbridge said.
Police were working with CYF to find the youths, he said.
Sgt Woodbridge asked members of the public to call police if they had concerns about unaccompanied youths in town during school hours.
