DQ convention bureau manager Kylie Brittain and operators including Nomad Safaris, Ziptrek Ecotours, Gibbston Valley Winery and HQ New Zealand, plus Queenstown's major conferencing hotels, will attend MEETINGS 2011.
It is the country's only national business tourism event for the conference, meetings, events, exhibition and travel incentive industry.
Hosted by Conventions and Incentives New Zealand, the 15th annual showcase will put the Queenstown contingent among 190 buyers and exhibitors at Rotorua on June 22 and 23.
Handpicked buyers from Australia, China, India, Thailand and Taiwan will be flown to MEETINGS by Tourism New Zealand and event sponsor Air New Zealand, joining New Zealand buyers for appointments with Queenstown and New Zealand exhibitors.
Ms Brittain said the Queenstown delegation would seek to raise the resort's profile at the biggest conference and incentive event in the country.
"The C and I market continues to grow and it's becoming more of a year-round sector, I think, because people are starting to realise Queenstown has year-round offerings and the shoulder season offers some reasonably good rates.
"Companies are rewarding staff year-round, instead of at the end of the calendar or financial year.
"Our strengths are we have accommodation options that suit all budgets, our variety of activities and also it's a pretty motivational destination to come to."
The latest Conventions Activity Survey found Queenstown hosted 43% of the country's "delegate days" recorded for multi-day incentive holiday events, for the year ending March 2011.
Auckland was the next highest destination, with 22% of the multi-day market for the year.
Queenstown took a 21% total share of all incentive delegate days in the country, both single day and multi-day, the same as Auckland's total incentive share.
The resort also hosted 36% of all multi-day Australian incentive delegate days for the year and 35% of all New Zealand's Australian incentive delegate days.
