Destination Queenstown board re-elected

Destination Queenstown is to co-opt two more directors to its board after elections were held at the annual meeting on Thursday.

Mark Quickfall, the current chairman, was re-elected unopposed.

Stephen McLean and Mark Simpson held their seats in the general category, fending off the challenge from Henry Crawford.

Also re-elected to the board were Russell Gray, Erna Spijkerbosch and Lynne McVivar.

A chairman will be elected at the next board meeting while the mayoral seat will be known after the local-body election result.

DQ's CEO, Tony Everitt, reported a surplus of $34,327.

Income for the year ended June 30 was $3,946,808 (up more than $300,000), while expenditure of $3,912,480 was up on the 2009 figure of $3,453,669.

He said the $34,327 surplus would be used to assist next year's operations.

Special presentations were made on Thursday to outgoing Mayor Clive Geddes, former QLDC CEO Duncan Field and former DQ CEO David Kennedy.
