Grocer with Moko Erased (2012), a cheeky but thought-provoking riposte to Auckland artist Dick Frizzell's controversial Grocer with Moko (1992), is one of two limited-edition screenprint series and six originals by Weston Frizzell in a new exhibition in Toi o Tahuna and Kapa Design Gallery tonight.

Weston Frizzell is a collaboration between Mike Weston and Dick's son Otis Frizzell, both of Auckland. Their show in the Queenstown gallery is called "Recent History" and includes six works from the Blockbusters series. "Recent History" opens at 5.30pm and runs to November 22.

The Rees St gallery also hosts a solo exhibition from young Toihoukura graduate Liam Te Nahu, who is expected to attend from Hamilton the launch of Waiora Taiohi, Manawa Hou - Young Spirit, New Heart at the same time tonight.

Influenced by Native American, Indian and Japanese cultures, the emerging talent provides 10 original ink-on-paper works for his Queenstown debut.
