A family of three from Shanghai, China, were shocked but not seriously hurt in a car crash on the Crown Range Rd at 4.40pm on Thursday.
Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell said the car, driven by a 34-year-old man, left the road on a left-hand bend at roadworks about 4km south of the Cardrona Hotel. A speed advisory sign had blown over.
The car overturned but the family were able to get out. St John and the Wanaka Volunteer Fire Brigade attended. The Ford Focus rental car was badly damaged.
