'Grossly intoxicated' man falls asleep in stranger's house

A 20-year-old "grossly intoxicated" Australian man wandered into a house on Gorge Rd on Monday and fell asleep on the couch.

Senior Sergeant Chris Blackford, of Queenstown, said the man was arrested for being unlawfully on a property and would likely by dealt with by diversion.

The owners were told to lock their doors in the future.

• An American man aged in his early 20s was arrested for breaching his bail conditions by not residing at the arranged address when police called on Monday night. He was expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court yesterday.

• An intoxicated 21-year-old Australian man was asked to leave a Queenstown bar on Tuesday at 2am, but was allowed back in to collect his jacket.

The man allegedly left the bar with three jackets, a woman's top and a scarf before he was stopped by a doorman and the police were called.

The man was charged with theft.

• A 23-year-old Australian woman was given a pre-charge warning by police after allegedly making a drunken nuisance of herself and for urinating in public at the double doors of O'Connells Shopping Centre yesterday at 3.10am.
