Naughty behaviour over weekend

On Friday, August 9, at 11.18pm, a 26-year-old Australian man received a pre-charge warning after allegedly urinating in Queenstown Mall.

Also on Friday, a 24-year-old Englishman was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour at Cowboys bar after allegedly pinching a male police officer's bottom just before midnight, Sergeant Kate Pirovano, of Queenstown, said.

The alleged offender ''thought it would be a good joke'', but the policeman did not find it funny.

Saturday, August 10

• 12.05am: A Russian with New Zealand citizenship and living in Frankton was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour after allegedly shoving a security staff member at Searle Lane and Social bar.

• 12.05am: A Kingston man was arrested and charged with assault after allegedly grabbing a bouncer around the neck from behind, also at Searle Lane and Social bar.

• 12.40am: A 45-year-old Brazilian man was taken to Lakes District Hospital for treatment after being discovered unconscious, face-down, in a pool of blood in the Athol St car park. Sgt Pirovano said the man was heavily intoxicated. Inquiries are continuing.

• 1.05am: A 25-year-old New Zealand man living in Queenstown was given a pre-charge warning following an incident in McDonald's, Camp St. Sgt Pirovano said the man was asked to leave the restaurant for ''acting the goat'', but refused.

• 2.15pm: A 21-year-old Invercargill man was arrested for his behaviour on the sideline at a rugby game at the Queenstown Events Centre. Sgt Pirovano said the man was charged with disorderly or offensive behaviour after allegedly abusing the referee and spectators.

• 4pm: A 19-year-old Invercargill man was given a pre-charge warning by police because of his behaviour at the BP Petrol Station, Frankton Rd.

• 6pm: A 17-year-old Queenstown youth was arrested in relation to disorderly behaviour after allegedly attempting to steal a golf cart at Millbrook Resort. The teenager was one of four people who got into the cart and drove off before being intercepted by resort staff.

Sunday, August 11

• Midnight: A 25-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking a door at the Naughty Penguin bar on Cow Lane.

• 12.30am: An Australian man was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour after allegedly obstructing police in Cow Lane.

• 1.50am: Two Saudi Arabian students were pepper-sprayed by police after an incident at Sky Bar, Camp St. One of the men was charged with resisting police and two counts of common assault. The other man was charged with indecent assault and injuring with intent to injure. Inquiries are continuing.

• 11.30pm: A 20-year-old American man was refused entry to Boiler Room bar and allegedly took a swing at the bouncer. The man was arrested for disorderly behaviour.
