A man is in custody after a serious assault in Wanaka yesterday that left another man needing treatment for head injuries.
Snr Constable Mike Johnston, of Wanaka, said police were called to a residential address in the township early on Saturday.
A fight had taken place between two men attending a party at the address. Another man got involved, and one of the men received serious head injuries and was taken to Dunstan Hospital for treatment. He is recovering and is in a stable condition.
Police located the offender soon after. He faces several charges including; injures with intent to injure and possession of an offensive weapon.
