Police seek leads on last weekend's house fire

Police inquiries are continuing into a Queenstown house fire last weekend.

Police have asked witnesses to come forward with information.

The fire destroyed the upper storey of an unoccupied Glasgow St house on Saturday morning.

Police have not yet been able to contact the overseas owner.

Detective Sergeant Brian Cameron, of Queenstown, was off duty yesterday and would continue the investigation today.

Crews from Queenstown and Frankton arrived within minutes of the fire starting.

However, it was already well ablaze.

A cause has not yet been established.

Examiners from both the fire service and police spent Saturday morning at the address.

Other officers went door to door, seeking witnesses.
