Wanaka Wastebusters will hold a drop-in session tonight to help answer the public's questions on last week's controversial decision by the Queenstown Lakes District Council to award Wanaka's kerbside recycling contract to Auckland firm Smart Environmental Ltd.
Wanaka Wastebusters media spokeswoman Gina Dempster said the session was an information "briefing", which aimed to explain some of the financial figures relating to the decision and to ease some of the confusion surrounding those figures.
"I know there's been a lot of numbers floating around," Ms Dempster said.
Wastebusters staff were "just trying to keep all our other projects afloat" at present, she said.
The drop-in session will be held from 7-9pm in the Faulks Room at the Lake Wanaka Centre.
