New Zealand photographer Fiona Pardington (left) was welcomed by Arrowtown gallery owner Nadene Milne and dozens of enthusiasts at her artist's talk in Dorothy Brown's Cinema and the opening of her latest exhibition in Nadene Milne Gallery next door on Friday night.

The Arts Foundation Laureate Award winner, of Auckland, who recently completed her doctor of fine arts degree at Elam, School of Fine Arts, discussed with visitors eight large and provocative photographs which form ''Fiona Pardington: Works From the Colin McCahon Residency 2013''.

The images of still life were taken during Pardington's residency at the McCahon House, French Bay, Titirangi.
