The teenager carded his second bull-riding win on the summer rodeo circuit, after he won the season's opening event at the Millers Flat rodeo on Boxing Day and subsequently placed second at Waimate and third at the Omarama Rodeo.
Fairlie horse rider Kate Fisher won the barrel race event at Wanaka, her second win of the summer circuit, outpacing Wanaka hope Angie Perkins, who had come from recent wins at Omarama and Waimate.
Oamaru bronco rider Ben Turner was another youngster to impress on Saturday when he claimed third place in the open bareback division, after stepping up from a win in the second division in the same discipline.
Wanaka Rodeo Club president Roger Moseby, a competitor himself in the open team roping event, said the rodeo had gone off without a hitch.
Spectators were barred from bringing in alcohol - for the first time in the Wanaka rodeo's 47-year-history - in order to satisfy stricter council liquor-licensing regulations and there had been no objections to the new regulations, he said.
Spectators on the hill enjoyed the atmosphere and action of the rodeo during Saturday's hot and sunny conditions.
