The first tenant to open at the $25 million Terrace Junction complex in Frankton will host a community open day on October 31.
Wanaka free-skier Jossi Wells, helicopter rescue pilot Pat West and Steve Hall, the new chief of the Halberg Trust, will give free five-minute talks about leadership, success and bravery on the Saturday.
The talks start at 11.45am and 1.45pm.
Host Westpac Bank's Southland area manager, Andrew Moreton, of Invercargill, said the speeches were a great way to give something back to the community.
Mr Wells won the emerging talent award at last year's Halberg Awards.
The Lakes District Air Rescue Trust is a beneficiary of the annual Westpac Chopper Appeal and the bank is the main sponsor of the Halberg Trust.
"We wanted to hold a bit of a celebration, but wanted something a bit more special than a sausage sizzle, although we will have sausages on offer. It's going to be great event," Mr Moreton said.
Participants will have the chance to win $1000 on a debitplus card.
Queenstown musician Brett Strachan will perform and a petting zoo should help keep youngsters entertained.
At least 13 staff are employed at what has become the 13th Westpac branch in the Central Otago and Southland areas, and the 199th branch nationwide.
It contains the traditional bank facilities, plus a waiting lounge with a gas fire and flatscreen television, eight meeting rooms, a children's area complete with toys and an office for private banking and business staff at the rear.
The Frankton branch had a soft opening on Monday.
Westpac worked with Rilean Construction to install the latest energy management, recycling and eco-friendly technologies in the premises.
The existing bank in Queenstown will continue to trade and there are no plans to close it.
