Tourism strategy in focus

More than 160 delegates from i-Site operators around New Zealand will converge on Wanaka next year for the tourism-associated industry's annual national conference.

I-Site information centres offer tourists and visitors information about different regional activities.

Lake Wanaka Tourism CEO John Alldred said the conference would be staged in September.

The conference will discusses common goals and activity sector strategy and the i-Site New Zealand response, together with global and national tourism trends.

The conference aims to attract not only delegates from i-Sites nationwide, but also key tourism stakeholders and frontline staff, and will be held over three days.

The Wanaka i-Site office, located in the log cabin on the main lakefront shore, is one of the best performed in the country and has won awards for its service, visitor numbers, and business operations.
