Wanaka power cut briefly

Power was cut to Wanaka's central business district and the wider area for 11 minutes yesterday afternoon.

Delta system control manager Graeme Johnson said, when contacted shortly after the cut, that staff were investigating how the fault occurred.

The power shut down at 2.49pm and everyone was reconnected by 3.07pm, he said.

The fault affected a wide area, including Albert Town, the Cardrona Valley and Glendhu Bay.

About 5500 residents were affected, he said.
