A new fridge will be gracing the kitchen of an Arrowtown home soon, after its owner won $25,000 in a Big Wednesday Second Chance draw.
The woman, who wishes to remain as anonymous as is possible in Arrowtown, said it was thanks to wine she won the prize in the first place.
"I don't often buy my tickets at Fresh Choice Queenstown, but there were some good wine specials on, so I got my tickets while we were there.
"It couldn't have happened at a better time either - we're just starting to build a new house, the computer's broken and we need a new bed.
"Now I can get my dream kitchen with all the mod cons - especially a massive fridge to hold all that wine in."
However, the woman said it wasn't all smooth sailing when she found out she had won.
"I handed over my tickets at the store, and the machine froze, so I thought I'd managed to break it somehow - the people at the store were being discreet, so pointed at the amount, but I still wasn't sure what was going on."
