Queenstown's Youth Booth is joining forces with the Summerdaze Festival for the first time to host a beach party for Wakatipu youngsters. The party will be held on January 21.
The Wakatipu Youth Trust's new team leader Jacqui Moir said everything from slacklining and paddleboarding to beach volleyball and a sand dig was in store.
There would also be music, food, prizes and surprises.
The event runs from noon to 4pm, and costs $5 per youth.
The beach party is a highlight of the Youth Booth's 10-day summer holiday programme which continues today with horse riding on the Ben Lomond Trail from 2pm to 6pm for $35.
Hold on for whitewater rafting tomorrow at 1pm to 7pm for $35. Grab airtime at SITE Trampoline, on January 16, 1.30pm to 4pm, for $15. Gear up for paintball on January 17, from 2pm to 5pm, for $35. Open house is back and admission is free at the Youth Booth on January 20, from 3pm to 6pm.
Learn and practise rock-climbing on January 22 and 23 from 2pm to 5.30pm for $35 for both days.
The summer programme slows at the end with a ''film and feed'' at the Youth Booth from 2pm to 6pm for $10.
