Coroner: Missing Queenstown man took his own life

A Queenstown man missing for more than a decade took his own life, a coroner has found.

Matthew Alexander Hamill, 59 at the time of his disappearance, was last seen in Queenstown on October 29, 2008.

A coronial hearing was held in the resort in early May.

In a decision released today, Coroner Anna Tutton found Mr Hamill had died, and that his death was self inflicted.
