Former Wakatipu High sprinter Hayato Yoneto’s in a mixed New Zealand squad competing in the 4x100 metres mixed relay event at the World Athletics Relays meet in Botswana this weekend.
The team — aiming to make the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles — has had a pre-camp in Potchefstrooom, South Africa.
The 24-year-old used to captain Wakatipu High’s 1st XI football team as well as competing in sprints.
