It is the fifth year in a row former Edinburgh native Chris Hutton has organised the Arrowtown Burns Supper & Ceilidh, which he describes as a "traditional Celtic evening full of banter, craic, eating, drinking and dancing".
Hutton says Burns suppers are held to celebrate Robbie Burns’ birthday on January 25.
The Arrowtown celebration, which is being held on the evening before Burns’ birthday, will feature "lively entertainment", free whisky tastings by Highland Fern NZ, and music by local ceilidh band Hair O’ the Dog.
This year there will be a buffet-style haggis supper, instead of a three-course meal.
After supper, the floor will be cleared so caller Ross Johnston can guide the crowd through some Scottish country dances.
Doors to the Athenaeum Hall open at 7pm — tickets cost $85 via Humanitix.
