Applications for funding invited

The Clutha District Council is inviting groups involved with community activities to lodge applications for one of three funding schemes.

The Creative Communities NZ Scheme, which aims to stimulate and support local arts and cultural activities, has been slow to attract applications for the 2010-11 funding round.

Applications close on Tuesday, November 30.

Applications for the Sport and Recreation NZ (Sparc) rural travel fund, which provides a subsidy to groups participating in local sporting competitions, close on Friday, December 4, and applications for the Tuapeka County bursary, which helps recipients with tertiary education costs, close on Friday, December 10.

Anyone needing information about these schemes, or application forms, can contact the Clutha District Council.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
