Jeannetta McArthur (left) and Zoe Latta cut the South Otago Ladies Focus Club’s 35th anniversary cake at the club’s recent celebration in Balclutha.

A spokeswoman for the club said members met regularly to enjoy "companionship, activities and social opportunities".

They celebrated its anniversary at the South Otago Town & Country Club, taking part in a "warm and festive" morning tea.

"Two of the club’s long-standing members — both in their 90s — had the honour of cutting the anniversary cake, beautifully baked and decorated by our vice-president, Suzanne Anderson.

"To commemorate the occasion, members were presented with lovingly crafted anniversary bookmarks, thoughtfully created by club president Judith Tunnah, marking 35 years of friendship, fellowship and fun."

The Focus Club welcomed new members.
