New toilets planned

The growing number of visitors to the Catlins will soon be able to spend a penny in new toilets planned for Owaka.

The Clutha District Council has started planning to replace the Owaka public toilets, which it deems dated and unable to cope with the increasing number of tourists visiting the Catlins area.

It has approved a budget of $130,000 in this financial year to build toilets in a suitable location near the Owaka Museum.
