Zac and Kendra Andrews did not have to go far for their wedding in February.

The couple were married at Dolamore Park in Gore, which neighbours their own property.

Mrs Andrews (nee Gentle) said the couple and their three children spent time at the park as a family and it created a "perfect setting on a stunning summer’s day".

"We managed to find a private area in the park and let the beautiful native trees set the scene."

About 150 guests attended the wedding on Valentine’s Day this year and the reception was at the Gore Town and Country Club.

Kendra’s dress was bought from Brides by Donna Rae, a fit and flare style dress.

"The dress style was chosen as I loved the long trail of buttons at the back of the dress and the knee-length split [in] the front provided comfort and the ability to move freely on the dance floor!"

She said the catering was great and the wedding cake made by friend Trudy Thompson was fantastic.

There was a real mixture of flowers on the day with toi toi and kowhai to wildflowers used for table settings.

Both the groomsmen and bridesmaids wore navy and Mrs Andrews said the colour worked well with the rust orange flowers featured in the bridesmaids bouquets and the archway flowers.

She said the favourite part of the day was taking a few moments to appreciate all the wonderful people we have in our lives and being able to celebrate having them all together in one place.

"Our three daughters made fantastic flower girls and it was just a very special day for our whole family. Having our three daughters walk down the aisle with their baskets and confetti, a cute and very special moment for our family."

The couple met while working together at a local real estate office and with mutual friends and good banter they became good friends. They have been together for six years.
