Awamoa skip Mark Lister and lead Terry Lake made it two in a row when the pair, with second Jim Paton, won the Bowls North Otago Centre triples yesterday at the Meadowbank club.
They had combined the previous season to win the title.
It was the second centre title for both.
In section play, Lister lost the first of the four rounds of qualifying to Graeme Sangster (10-17) but won his next three rounds with victories over Barney Patton, 25-7, Jim Ellis, 16-7, and Jock Sangster, 10-9.
In the semifinals yesterday morning Lister beat Graeme Sangster, 18-3.
In the other semifinal, Phoenix's Bruce Kelly edged out Awamoa's Ken Piner, 11-9.
The final was a close affair over 15 ends, with Lister leading 7-3 after five ends.
Kelly drew level after seven ends and after nine ends it was still tied, at 8-all.
A three on the next end put Lister back in front but Kelly fought back to tie it up at 12-all with two ends remaining.
A single on the penultimate end gave Kelly a 13-12 lead but on the final end, Lister picked up two shots to claim the title.
All cricket was cancelled early on Saturday afternoon after steady rain began to fall at midday.
Senior club tennis suffered a similar fate.
Central Otago

The 2011-12 O'Neill Trophy bowls pennants competition began in the Maniototo at the weekend, with Patearoa's Ron Hamill making the perfect start to the new season.
He beat Ranfurly opponent Jim Walker, 23-5.
The other big win in the first round came from Ranfurly's Ray Kearney, who beat Tony Andrews of Waipiata, 26-9.
Other winners in the first round of action were Peter Williams (Waipiata), Stuart Hore (Naseby), Roger Andrews (Patearoa) and Andy Weir (Waipiata).
In round 2 of the ECNZ Trophy competition from Alexandra, Alexandra CB and Alexandra R each picked up maximum points over the weekend, with three wins apiece On the other hand, Roxburgh and RSA 3 came away without a single point.
Alexandra CB leads the east zone competition standings after two rounds with 11 points, followed by Alexandra R, Hickeys and Omakau each on 10.
Out in the west, Wanaka has opened up a 3.5-point lead over Bannockburn at the top of the leader board, while Queenstown sits in third on 9.5 points after two rounds.
Bannockburn and Hawea played only one set after rain caused the rest of the match between the sides to be abandoned.
Bannockburn picked up the points from the first set.
South Otago

Bowls was the main feature on the sporting front in South Otago on Saturday, with the second round of the men's interclub competition being played.
A highlight of the afternoon play was the 12-0 win by Owaka over Milton Gold, with all skips scoring one win from each game.
One of the highest scores of the day came in the fours game, with Owaka, led by Bruce Wilson, winning 23-3.
Kaka Point won the contest against Milton White, 8-4.
John Hurst led the seasiders to a 27-1 win over a Milton four skipped by Murray Grant.
Stirling was too good for Clinton, winning 8-4.
For the winners, Bob Sanders was again in grand form in his two games.
Max Collett and John Sutherland also recorded wins.
For Clinton, Alan Mathieson and Brian Elder scored one win each .
Balclutha continued on its winning way with a 10-2 win over Milton Blue.
For Balclutha, Blair Thomson scored one from two, but it was Tony Cook, with two from two, who took the top honours.
Best for Milton came from Ray Macnee, who won his game over Blair Thomson 13-11.
Kaitangata recorded an 8-4 win over Waihola.
The best for the winning team came from Graeme Hislop with two wins, while Neville Twaddle and Stu Uren scored one each.
Neil Walker and John Moana scored one each for Waihola.
After a slow start, Town and Country, after being down 2-1 at interval, recorded another three from three after the break to finally beat Clutha Valley, 8-4.
Bruce Campbell (2), Barrie Keach and David Renton were winners for T and C.
Best for Clutha Valley came from Tony Hooper and Robert Wilson with one win each.
The second round of midweek bowls has been played, with four teams still unbeaten.
The Kaka Point Orcas scored a big win over Owaka by 34-9.
Finegand was also a big winner with a 29-11 victory over Milton Saints.
T and C was too good for Stirling, winning 24-8.
Clinton also kept its unbeaten record with a 21-15 win over Balclutha White.
