Trent you've been part of three successive series wins, West Indies home, India home, now West Indies away. Which one are you most chuffed about?

Without a doubt this one is the most special. It's offshore, so it's foreign conditions and just being away from home makes you really appreciate winning tests. I can't say there's a much better feeling than what's happened over the last couple of weeks.

Tim Southee and you have a pretty good working relationship as the new ball double act. Is there a competitive streak between you?

Probably the more competitive side is when we've got a bat in our hands. We both want to outhit or outscore each other. But when it comes to the ball we're very passionate about playing for New Zealand. I don't think there's too much going on about if I get a wicket he wants to get one, anything like that. We're good mates and just love running in together and performing.

You're clearly fit as a flea. Do you reckon you might be the fittest player in the group?

I don't know to be honest. I enjoy that side of things, getting fit and giving myself the best chance to stay on the park. It's not a competition in my eyes. There are some fit guys there.

You'll get home next week. What's in store for you?

I'll get a good little break after this, then go to Champions League with the Northern Knights, then home for another window of conditioning, then on the plane to Dubai (to play Pakistan in November). So a little bit of cricket coming up, but a bit of R and R which I'm looking forward to.

You've got a day off to do whatever you want to unwind. Where would we find you?

I live in Mount Maunganui and can't think of much better place to chill out. Anyone will tell you I love my golf so I'm already planning my tee times. And I'm sure I'll be tucking into a couple of flat whites because we've been deprived of good coffee for the last six or seven weeks.

What's your golf handicap?

Four.

Are any of the other players particularly good golfers?

A lot of the boys fancy themselves as good golfers. Baz (Brendon McCullum) is all right. Whenever there is a bus going for a round there's a lot joining in. There're a few single handicappers. Hamish Rutherford hits it well and Tim and Corey (Anderson) are trying to improve as much as they can.

They're works in progress?

Yeah.

If you've got your headphones on what are you likely to be listening to?

I'm in charge of music in the camp so whatever I'm listening to everyone else is. I pride myself on my music. I play a lot of guitar. I have many playlists, anything from recent new-age radio hits to Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Dire Straits. I'm an all-for-one kind of music man.

What's the last movie you watched?

Non-Stop with Liam Neeson. It was an easy watch.

What's your favourite genre?

I'm a huge comedy man to be honest. I enjoy a good laugh.

Cheese or chocolate?

Chocolate definitely. I can eat cheese on pizzas and sandwiches, too, at a stretch but I can't each cheese by itself.

Any superstitions?

Not really. We were having an argument in the changing room the other day.

What's the difference between a superstition and a routine?

I do certain things before I bowl or bat but I can't say I strap my left pad on before my right.

Any ambitions to rise above No 11 in the batting order?

It's an interesting one. I definitely pride myself on my batting and take a lot of pride in my wicket. If I crept my way up to No 9 so be it. But I'm pretty happy where I am. My mind and game plan is pretty clear on what I have to do at 11 and to be honest if I went up I might be thinking about it too much.
