Manurewa and Three Kings United combined to end the South Island's involvement with football's Chatham Cup after battling to closely fought quarterfinal victories on the road today.
Three Kings twice recovered from a goal down at Dunedin's Caledonian ground to finally prevail 4-3 in extra time over Caversham.
Luiz Del Monte forced the winner home in the 112th minute while Manurewa also left it late before overcoming Nelson Suburbs 3-1.
In the other quarterfinal in Wellington, Miramar eliminated three-time Cup winners Waitakere City 3-1.
Dave Dugdale scored in each half to twice put Caversham in charge but Three Kings twice found equalisers through an Alejandro Blanco penalty and Jesse van Kekum to force the match into extra time.
Three Kings' Jacob Mathews and Caversham's Chris Jenkinson traded goals in the first spell of extra time before Del Monte reproduced his fourth round heroics with another late strike.
At Nelson's Memorial Park Dave Allen provided Manurewa's decisive second goal the 90th minute to break a 1-1 deadlock before Theara Thay inflated the margin deep in injury time.
After a goalless first half Jordan Maxwell put Nelson ahead on the hour but Manurewa levelled through a Stu Roberts penalty with less than 15 minutes to go before Allen and Thay twisted the knife.
In the capital, Peter Halstead netted midway through the first half before All White Andy Barron and Dominic Rowe stretched Miramar's lead to an impregnable 3-0 early in the second half.
Keegan Linderboom curled a trademark free-kick into the top corner to give Waitakere faint hope but Miramar's defence held firm for the final 10 minutes.
The final quarterfinal sees Forrest Hill Milford host Wellington Olympic on Auckland's North Shore tomorrow.
The semifinal draw will be made on Tuesday with the games scheduled for August 29 and 30. The 82nd Chatham Cup final will be played on September 19.
