Roslyn to face Royals in first round of Chatham Cup

Roslyn Wakari will host the South City Royals in round one of the Chatham Cup.

It will be the most anticipated of the southern Cup match-ups, which were confirmed by New Zealand Football in yesterday’s draw.

The two clubs have had strong starts to the Southern Premier League and are in the top two spots on the table after six games, although Otago University has a game in hand.

In the other matches, Timaru’s Thistle will host Green Island, and Geraldine will host Queenstown.

West End travels to Mosgiel, while Wanaka hosts Queens Park and Gore Wanderers faces Grants Braes, in Gore.

Otago University and Northern both have byes in the first round.

In the women’s Kate Sheppard Cup, 2018 champion Dunedin Technical hosts Roslyn Wakari in its opening round match.

Technical will once again be among the favourites for the title.

Queenstown hosts Green Island, and Otago University plays Southland United.

The matches will be played on May 15-16.
