North Otago relished playing at home, beating Chisholm Park by a 5 to 1 margin in the semifinal of the Coastal pennant series which was played on the North Otago course on Saturday.
The Oamaru team will now go forward to the final against St Clair which will be played on the Corstorphine course after St Clair qualified in top position after the round robin.
Park No 2 Kyle Geary was the only winner for the Dunedin team beating Gary Islses on the 17th green.
John Cunningham (No 1) and Paul Velenski (No 4) posted impressive 5 and 4 wins over Antony McCullough and Sean Geary to put the Oamaru team in the driving seat.
The future of North Otago golf looks assured with two Waitaki Boys' High School pupils notching wins for the team's tail.
Kris Rush beat Peter Rae on the final green while Cameron Ryder dominated Conor Jamison with a 4 and 3 win.
