Star St George Illawarra centre Mark Gasnier is set to retire at the end of the NRL season.
News Limited has reported the Australian international will announce his retirement from rugby league at a press conference this afternoon.
Gasnier played for NSW in this year's State of Origin series but is understood to have been toying with giving the game away for a while.
The 29 year old had returned to the NRL midway through last year after playing rugby for French club Stade Francais.
The Dragons winning their first premiership in 31 years in 2010 was thought to be a factor in his decision.
