ANOTHER netballer is heading to Australia, while two anothers have landed the first contracts in the United Kingdom. Silver Fern midcourter Maddy Gordon has inked a two-year deal with the West Coast Fever, while former Southern Steel shooter Saviour Tui and Mainland Tactix centre Holly Mather have signed with the Dragons in the UK. Gordon joins the Fever after a season with the Queensland Firebirds, where she returned from a hamstring injury at the back end of the season. The 47-cap Silver Fern joins former Silver Ferns captain and Central Pulse team-mate Ameliaranne Ekenasio at the Fever. Tui, who has spent the past three seasons with the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic, and Mather, who won the ANZ Premiership with the Tactix in 2025, are the first New Zealanders to flee to the UK amid the uncertainty of next year’s competition. Tui will reunite with former coach Reinga Bloxham, who is now the head of the Dragons. Tiana Metuarau had already re-signed with the Birmingham Panthers. Kelly Jackson and Te Paea Selby-Rickit have re-signed with the Firebirds, Karin Burger re-signed with the Sunshine Coast Lightning and Georgia Heffernan inked a two-year deal with the Lightning this week. More New Zealand signings are expected within the next week, including Kate Heffernan and Grace Nweke.
