She was the best-performed Otago swimmer at the championships at Splash Palace, Invercargill.
The Columba College pupil was competing in the girls aged 13 grade and won gold medals in the 100m breaststroke (1min 19.06sec), 50m butterfly (30.71sec), 200m individual medley (2min 32.33sec), 100m individual medley (1min 10.75sec) and 200m breaststroke (2min 51.52sec).
She is a member of Gennadiy Labara's Osca training squad and also won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle and bronze medals in the 50m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.
It has been a good year for Familton because she also won two medals in the girls under-13 age group at the New Zealand surf life-saving championships at Mount Maunganui for the Warrington Club.
Her gold medal was in the surf race and the bronze medal in the run-swim-run event.
Her Osca training partner Ben McMahon (Neptune) won seven medals in the boys aged 14 grade in Invercargill.
Three of his four gold medals were in the backstroke events: 50m (30.07sec), 100m (1min 05.54sec) and 200m (2min 20.76sec). His other gold medal was in the 200m individual medley (2min 24.29sec).
His silver medals were in the 100m individual medley and the 50m freestyle and he won bronze in the 100m freestyle.
It was a successful championships for Otago swimmers, who won 42 medals: 16 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze.
Ryan Clark (Queenstown) won three gold medals in the boys aged 13 grade in the 200m backstroke (2min 24.10sec), 400m freestyle (4min 38.83sec) and 200m butterfly (2min 23.93sec).
He also won silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
Ella Gibson (Queenstown) won gold in the 100m (1min 10.94sec) and 200m (2min 34.73sec) butterfly and silver in the 200m and 400m individual medley.
Anna Lindsay (Waves) won gold in the girls aged 14 800m in 7min 54.43sec and bronze in the 400m freestyle.
Victoria Clarke (Taieri) won gold in the girls aged 15 200m butterfly in 2min 42.18sec and was third in the 100m butterfly.
Ryan Mawhinney (Queenstown) won two silver medals in the boys aged 15 200m butterfly and 1500m freestyle.
Grace Kai Fong (Queenstown) won bronze in the girls aged 13 50m backstroke.
Nathan Scott (Neptune) won a silver medal in the boys aged 13 200m butterfly and bronze in the 100m butterfly.
Eilis Doyle (Waves) won silver in the girls aged 16 to 18 400m freestyle and bronze in the 200m freestyle.
Alex Chirnside (Waves) won bronze in the boys aged 14 1500m.
Jared Brenssell (Oamaru) was third in the boys aged 14 200m freestyle.
Bronze medals were won by the Otago provincial girls and boys aged 13 and 14 200m freestyle relay teams. Queenstown won a silver medal in the girls aged 13 and 14 200m freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 200m medley relay.
The Frank Wylie-coached Queenstown swimmers won 15 medals - five gold, six silver and four bronze - to finish as the top Otago club in seventh place in the 72-team club competition. It was the club's best performance at the championships.
Neptune swimmers won 17 medals - nine gold, four silver and four bronze - to finish eighth in the teams competition.
