Her co-owner/co-trainer Brian Anderton was looking through the dictionary for names to suit the daughter of Gallant Guru and Cherry Creek.
''I looked up stream and everything, then I spotted ''coulee'', which is a stream of hot lava.
''I thought: Well, she's a chestnut and I hope she's going to be hot.''
The only problem is the juvenile filly is going to have to wait for her first start after jockey Jake Lowry urged her to a neck win over an Iffraaj-Broadway Miss gelding in a 1000m jumpout at Wingatui yesterday.
There are no 2yr-old races scheduled in the South Island until a $15,000 sprint at Riccarton on April 12 or an 1100m race at Riverton on April 19.
Anderton and son Shane also prepared the winner of the other 1000m heat, Gurus Response.
''She'll be racing here next meeting [on April 10] - she's going to be a staying mare so she'll go on from that,'' Anderton said.
The 63-rated mare could start in a rating 65 1400m or a rating 75 1200m at that meeting.
Wingatui trainer Paul Richards is in no hurry to get the winner of the first heat to the races.
The 3yr-old Saperavi filly out of the Flying Pegasus mare Sumtime produced a good run in tough conditions to win her 800m heat in 48.1sec, ahead of Gore galloper Lucky Nemo.
Richards said he would give the filly another jumpout before considering a race start for her.
