Leif Erikson (race 6) won his workout by eight lengths in a smart 2.45 for 2200m (mobile). The Graeme Anderson-Amber Hoffman-trained Leif Erikson has won twice from five starts and been placed in his other three.
He began racing with a win at Forbury Park in May. He won two starts later at Invercargill and he had his most recent race on June 14.
Jess Jaccka, trained by Jonny Cox at Westwood Beach, also won a workout last Saturday. She could be to the fore in race 4. She won at Washdyke two starts back.
Samuel James, who was pulled up after a flat sulky tyre at his last start, could have a change of fortunes in race 8. He was placed in his three previous starts.
