Jess Jaccka, So King and Better To Be Bad are the biggest Otago winners following the barrier draw for next weekend's 12 Harness Jewels races at Ashburton.
Jess Jaccka and So King have drawn 1 and 2 respectively in the 5yr-old Ruby for trotters on the second day of the carnival, while Oamaru trainer Phil Williamson has not fared so well. His star, and pre-barrier draw favourite, Springbank Sam, has drawn the outside of the front line, while Monnay will start from the outside of the back row.
Better To Be Bad will start from barrier 4 in the 5yr-old Diamond for pacing mares, but the news is not so good for Ballindooley, who will start from barrier 3 on the second line, following scratchings.
The news was not much better for the Roxburgh mare Royal Impression, who has drawn on the outside of the second line in the 4yr-old Diamond.
Williamson's luckless run with barrier draws continued when Miss Pegasus drew barrier 11, and will be wedged between runners on the second line.
All 12 Harness Jewel races over the two days are mobile starts over a mile.
