Forsyth Barr Stadium will be used for club rugby for the first time this year.
''Dunedin Venues contacted the rugby union and asked us if we wanted to play junior rugby at the stadium on Saturday,'' Otago Rugby Football Union community rugby manager Richard Perkins said.
''We jumped at the chance.''
It was passed on to the Junior Metropolitan Committee to select the games.
''It will be a great opportunity for the kids to play at the stadium,'' Perkins said.
''It is something very exciting for them.''
It is a gesture by Dunedin Venues to the ratepayers of Dunedin who feel the stadium is not getting enough local use. "It was part of the community sport programme and was one of the dates that fitted into that,'' Perkins said.
Schoolboy rugby is not expected to be too taxing on the grass at the stadium.

• Under 13: Green Island Grizzlies v Alhambra-Union (12.15pm), Taieri v Dunedin Tigers (1.30pm), Kaikorai v Pirates Juggernaughts (2.45pm).
