Scott was the obvious choice to take the award for the second year in a row.
Highlights of her season included being selected to play in the prestigious Auckland professional interclub competition the Caro Bowl, winning the national junior individual title and leading the Southern junior team to the national teams title.
She also won the consolation event in the national residential tournament won by Marina Erakovic.
Scott played in the men's premier competition and helped Balmacewen to the minor premiership.
Although she was very focused on court and strongly competitive, she impressed local followers with her grounded attitude, proving helpful to organisers and supportive to team-mates.
Wong gained his award for years of dedicated service to his Balmacewen club.
He had been on the fringes of Southern Districts selection in past seasons and broke through to the No 1 spot in the Otago team this season.
He was the last remaining local player in the Otago Open, a tournament dominated by overseas visitors, and is known for his hard, competitive edge and his sportsmanship.
The awards for most improved players were claimed by Sian English and Matt White.
English (14) was a support member of the Southern team which won national honours at 16-and-under level and a leading light at the 14s level.
She took up the top spot for Otago at an open event when Scott was unavailable, joining Dianne Hollands and Shelley Stephens as one of the youngest to assume that role.
White was recognised for his enthusiastic participation record and his role in the Balmacewen premier team.
He gained many of his results by playing the percentages and extracting errors from his opponents.
