A man was arrested on Sunday after failing to stop.
A man was arrested for dangerous driving after failing to stop for police in central Christchurch on Sunday night.

The 46-year-old driver was briefly pursued by police about 8.36pm in a chase which started on Oxford Tce.

The pursuit was abandoned but the vehicle was then found at the intersection of Main North Rd and QE II Drive in Redwood.

A police spokeswoman said the man was located on Northcote Rd a short time later and was taken into custody.

He was due to appear in the district court on Monday morning on charges of failing to stop, dangerous driving and wilful damage.
