Police have confirmed one person has died at the scene of a crash involving a vehicle and e-scooter in Christchurch this morning.
The serious crash unit is investigating the fatal collision near the intersection of Avonside Dr and Linwood Ave just after 6.45am on Wednesday.
"The person was located in a critical condition, and CPR was commenced, however, they were pronounced dead a short time later," police said.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
Avonside Dr has been re-opened after the crash.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said two crews and fire trucks assisted police and ambulance staff.
The serious crash unit was at the scene this morning to investigat the circumstances of the crash.
