Emergency services were called after a small plane got into trouble at the a Rangiora airfield.
Police said they were notified an aircraft had made a hard landing just after 1.30pm on Monday at the Rangiora Airfield off Merton Rd.
Hato Hone St John sent an ambulance to the scene.
St John staff assessed one injured person at the scene who was in a moderate condition, a spokesperson said.
Fire and Emergency NZ sent fire crews from Rangiora and Woodend to the light aircraft crash.
A water tanker was also sent to help clean up a fuel spill.
