Larnach Castle is the jewel in the crown of Dunedin as a conference dinner venue.

The castle was begun in 1871 as an intended neogothic colonial showplace, a dream home for William Larnach’s beloved wife, Eliza. No expense was spared in creating this beautiful building, and the finest materials and craftsmen from all over the world were employed to decorate it.

For guests today, the castle team’s speciality is offering an individual service that is second to none.

"All groups are welcomed through the main doors of the castle; pre-dinner drinks are served on the castle verandas before they move through to the grand ballroom to be seated for dinner," events manager Michelle Simpson said.

"With a wide range of menu choices, we offer a buffet-style service through to a much more formal three- or four-course set menu served to the table. Our current menus and beverages have been carefully selected to suit the most discerning tastes, but should you require something unique, our experienced staff are at your service."

Audiovisual equipment is available so that speeches, presentations or awards can be made throughout the meal from the ballroom stage.

Larnach Castle is an award-winning attraction and the Larnach Castle garden holds a Garden of International Significance rating from the New Zealand Garden Trust. The beautiful gardens offer many places to take photographs.
