Meeting result 'positive'

Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull yesterday said it would be at least a week before the council could reveal the results of a non-public meeting on the Forsyth Barr Stadium.

• $10 million debt a 'fantastic outcome'

The brief extraordinary meeting was held before the annual plan hearings yesterday morning.

The subject was "funding contributions to the Forsyth Barr Stadium" and the reason for holding the meeting non-publicly was the possibility of the "disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding exists".

On Sunday, Mr Cull said the result would be a "good news story", and yesterday he said he did not resile from that statement.

"It is a positive."
