Southern District Health Board administration staff numbers continue to be well below the 730 limit set by the Government in 2008.
Last October the board had 687 full time equivalent (FTE) administration staff positions and 22 vacant positions. Their com-bined total would be 709.
Board finance and funding general manager Robert Mackway Jones said it was hard to compare the 2008 costs with the current position because staff mix, wage inflation and leave payments could be distorting.
