Fire crews will continue to control a blaze in a remote section of bush near Nelson this morning.
The fire, believed to be caused by an electrical storm, broke out in trees in Maitai Valley east of the township about 8.30pm last night, said a Southern Fire Communications spokesman.
Two helicopters worked to bring the blaze in the area 200 metres by 50 metres under control and will resume this morning to dampen down the area, he said.
