A New Zealand soldier injured in Afghanistan when he was crushed by a collapsing wall is now recuperating at home, the Defence Force said today.
The Special Operations Forces soldier sustained a broken jaw and a broken leg. The injuries were not life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.
The soldier was initially transported to a medical treatment centre in Germany before returning to New Zealand on a commercial flight.
The NZ Defence Force said it would not make any further comment.
