Millie Elder resigned to possible jail term

The estranged daughter of broadcaster Paul Holmes says she is resigned to the fact that she may go to prison.

Millie Elder was speaking after her latest court appearance, this time at Waitakere District Court on a charge of driving while suspended. She was bailed to reappear later this month.

She is facing a raft of drug and bail breach charges, and admitted getting confused about which court dates were for which allegations. She told the Herald on Sunday she was realistic about the possibility of her going to prison.

"If it happens, it happens, I will just deal with it. There's not much I can do about it."

The former model said she was a totally different person from the woman she was two years ago. She was on the dole, proud, and claimed to be drug-free after a well-publicised battle with P.

She said she was happy and in love with her live-in partner Connor Morris, a kickboxer and son of patched Head Hunter Chris Morris.

As she appeared in court, Holmes was preparing to farewell her grandmother, Chrissie Hobson, in Hastings. At his mother's funeral, Holmes said he hoped his daughter would one day recognise how much she was loved by her nana.

Holmes said he was sad Millie was not at the service. "And I'm so sad Millie was back in court. I knew where I had to be."
