Police involved in a homicide investigation after a body was found at an Auckland city apartment today are focusing inquiries on a man found injured at the scene.
Police were called to a block of apartments on Winchester St in the suburb of Newton at about 4pm.
A woman was found dead at the scene and a man aged in his early 20s was found injured and transferred to hospital after being treated by medics.
A police spokesman said tonight the man was being spoken to and no one else was being sought in relation to the incident.
He said police and the body remained at the apartment and investigators were likely to remain there well into the night.
A post mortem examination would be carried out tomorrow morning.
