Wellington-based artist Michel Tuffery was one of a group of four artists who presented and spoke about the works they had produced during the Wanaka-based arts festival.

Tuffery's kinetic art installation involved a group of about 25 people flinging hand-crafted, individually decorated, cutout aircraft models into the air and over Bullock Creek lagoon.

The Festival of Colour's Pouwhenua project brought four artists to Wanaka to produce work in line with a theme of "Markers on the Land".

Most of the helpers left with a souvenir after helping Tuffery make the model warbirds at a workshop during the week.
