A new general manager has been appointed for Tourism Waitaki after the resignation in November of Glenn Ormsby.
Waitaki Development Board chairman Peter Robinson yesterday announced the appointment of Annabel Gudsell to the position.
She has a background in domestic and international marketing, management, media and event management.
Originally from Ashburton, Ms Gudsell has worked over the past 10 years in New Zealand, Australia and Europe, moving into international education at the Design and Arts College, Christchurch, in 2005.
Since 2008, she has been general manager.
Ms Gudsell, who will start her new job on March 23, said Waitaki had an abundance of quality tourism products that needed to be supported while also offering new products to add to the visitor experience.
"It is about growth but managed growth, one that will enhance and benefit the whole community, she said."
